I wanted to reblog this interview mainly so I could add that Vimeo is one of the very few sites online that has, in a very real and traceable way, changed my life; I don’t know where I would be without it… surely not where I am today.
To elaborate: Vimeo was one of the first sites with a community of people that seemed to care, seemed to encourage, seemed invested in others in a way that I had never seen - in real life or online.
I had been sharing the videos I made for FToM on YouTube, Blip, Revver, iTunes, etc, and never really found a group of people who seemed to connect with what I was saying. When I found Vimeo later on, I simply was attracted by the attention to style in the player - but only after uploading a few of my older videos did I notice I had finally found something very, very different…
